WASHINGTON, June 9, 2023 — Nine states have not yet submitted plans to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide summer benefits through the Pandemic EBT Program. If they do not do so by July 14, millions of families will be left struggling to make ends meet this summer when they lose access to school meals, says the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC).

WASHINGTON, May 24, 2023 — The Food Research & Action Center’s (FRAC) Community Eligibility: The Key to Hunger-Free Schools, School Year 2022–2023 report released today found that during the 2022–2023 school year, 40,235 schools adopted the provision, which allows high-need schools to offer breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge.
WASHINGTON, May 18, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), through a cooperative agreement with USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) and the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC), has awarded $16 million in subgrants funding from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to 36 projects aimed at testing innovative outreach strategies to increase participation and equity in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, known as WIC.
