The National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference (AHPC) brings together over 1,000 advocates from all over the country for content-rich sessions, a Lobby Day on Capitol Hill, and networking across the anti-hunger community. AHPC 2025 will be held in the familiar halls of the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., May 4–6. You do not want to miss out on this unique opportunity to learn and connect.

Read below to hear firsthand from advocates about their favorite parts of AHPC.

Learning

After attending the conference for more than five years, Leran Minc, Project Bread’s director of Public Policy, explained how even he learns more each year, “This is the best few days to connect with other advocates, learn a lot about our combined work, and get ideas to bring back to our communities.”

About AHPC:

  1. Did you know AHPC had workshops ranging from nutrition program roundtables to centering regional agriculture in antihunger work in 2024?
  2. In 2024, the conference had presenters from nearly every state in the country.
  3. This year, we are excited to offer even more amazing workshops and plenaries that will inform and inspire attendees.

Lobbying

AHPC welcomes new and old advocates into the anti-hunger space. Kyle Schoolar, Feeding the Gulf Coast’s director of Advocacy and Strategic Initiatives recounted his first Hill visit at AHPC, “Attending the National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference has been such a game-changer for me. It’s where I really learned how to talk to policymakers about our work and share the impact of federal nutrition programs in ways that stick. I’ve picked up so many creative strategies, met some incredible hunger advocates from all over the country, and even got my first real experience with legislative office visits there. It’s helped me grow so much as an advocate and made me feel more confident as we work to amplify voices to end hunger in America.”

About AHPC:

  1. We had over 100 Hill visits at AHPC 2024.
  2. Questions about setting up your Hill visits for AHPC? You can connect with FRAC’s lobbyists by emailing Tim Klipp-Lockhart tklipp-lockhart@frac.org.
  3. This year, we are excited to kick off Lobby Day at AHPC in a whole new way! More details to come soon.

Networking

Advocates with lived expertise such as Meighan Lovelace talked about the valuable connections she built through AHPC. Lovelace said, “This is an opportunity to learn, grow, and be inspired. You will build your networks, make meaningful connections, and gather tools you can use in your community.”

About AHPC:

  1. Over 1,000 advocates attended AHPC in 2024.
  2. Last year, more than half of the conference attendees attended for the first time, so it’s a great opportunity to make new connections.
  3. At AHPC 2025, there will be even more opportunities for networking.
