What Is the Request for Proposals (RFP)?
The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) is currently accepting proposals for the 2025 National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference (AHPC), which will be held May 4–6 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. Over a thousand anti-hunger advocates will come together from across the country. Through the AHPC RFP, you can share your best practices and ideas for fighting hunger in America.
The RFP is open until 3 p.m. EST on Monday, January 27. Submit your proposal today!
Who Reviews Proposals?
The RFP review committee is comprised of individuals with lived expertise, anti-hunger advocates, and FRAC staff. This diverse group of individuals will review and discuss the proposals, discuss them, and decide which ones are the best fit for AHPC 2025. You can review the selection criteria on the RFP portal.
Any Recommendations for a Successful Proposal?
Here are some of the benchmarks that reviewers will use to grade each proposal:
- Focus on anti-hunger policy issues. This may sound obvious, but AHPC focuses on best practices for legislative and administrative advocacy. You can highlight federal nutrition programs or anti-poverty programs advocacy strategies that achieve this goal or creative ways you have implemented a program at the local, state, or national level.
- The more partnerships, the better! Each session needs a moderator and can have up to three panelists. A well-rounded proposal will feature panelists from different organizations. Many attendees will be from state and local organizations who are looking for strategies that they can take back home with them. Are you working with local partners? How about including an advocate, a benefit recipient, and a local government official? Thinking more at the state level — how about partnering with states from different regions to showcase different approaches to effective implementation?
- Have fun! A successful proposal is for a session that you’d want to attend yourself. Think of creative ways to engage the audience, use success stories to expand on your data, and consider including speakers with lived expertise to balance your panel.
