Food Research & Action Center Strongly Condemns Acts of Violence Against Asian American Communities

WASHINGTON, March 17, 2021 — Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that Asian Americans have been living in fear. In addition to being disproportionately impacted by the public health and hunger crisis, these communities increasingly have become the target of hate crimes. The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) emphatically condemns the acts of violence committed against Asian Americans. The senseless and tragic events over the past year, and as recently as yesterday in Atlanta, must stop — now. 

Permanent Block of Public Charge Rule Key Step Forward to Ensuring Immigrants Can Access Critical Nutrition Programs

WASHINGTON, March 10, 2021 — The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) is beyond pleased that the 2019 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) public charge rule has been blocked permanently nationwide. This exciting news comes on the heels of yesterday’s Department of Justice (DOJ) decision to stop defending the Trump-era public charge regulations and court dismissals of pending appeals by the U.S. Supreme Court and others.
