SNAP Participation Lags Among Eligible Seniors in Every State, Putting Them at Greater Risk of Hunger
WASHINGTON, March 21, 2019 — SNAP helps low-income seniors afford the food they need for their health and well-being, yet FRAC’s data tools find that just 42 percent of eligible seniors (60+) are using SNAP on average each month — compared to 83 percent of all SNAP-eligible people that participate in SNAP.
