In September 2026, USDA made substantial adjustments to previous months of data, revising data down for most months of 2025.
January 2025’s national SNAP participation number was changed from 42,819,184 to 42,412,762, a decrease of 406,422 individuals. July 2025’s national SNAP participation number was changed from 42,012,830 to 41,599,407, a decrease of 413,423 individuals. This table shows all adjustments made for calendar year 2025.
This shift in numbers is driven by corrections to participation data in Georgia, though there are other minor data adjustments as well. USDA’s updated state participation data can be downloaded here.
The graphs and table on the SNAP Participation Dashboard were revised to reflect those adjustments on September 22nd, 2026. Any use of data from this dashboard prior to this date should be revised.
