Millions of Mothers, Infants, and Toddlers Don’t Get the Nutrition They Need for a Healthy Life
WASHINGTON, May 7, 2019 — Too many pregnant women, new mothers, and their young children in the U.S. are missing out on the healthy nutrition they need, according to Making WIC Work Better: Strategies to Reach More Women and Children and Strengthen Benefits Use, a new report from FRAC. The report features recommendations to overcome the barriers that have led to a shocking downward trend in participation in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
