FRAC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is supported by a range of foundations, corporations, and faith-based groups. Their generous support has helped make possible FRAC’s work to end hunger in America.

We rely on financial support to advance our mission, but we have clear guardrails. We do not accept funding that conflicts with our mission or requires us to take a position. Those protections ensure our independence.

All decisions regarding our work, advocacy, and research are made independently by our staff and board of directors—free from the influence of any funder.

FRAC has a long-standing policy of not accepting funds from entities when doing so would be counter to FRAC’s mission or if acceptance is conditioned on FRAC taking, or declining to take, any substantive policy position. The following is longstanding policy as adopted by FRAC’s Board:

  • FRAC will not accept money if acceptance would be counter to FRAC’s mission or best interests.

  • FRAC will not become so dependent on any one source of funds that it cannot afford to refuse if asked to take an action counter to its mission or best interests.

  • FRAC will not accept money if acceptance is conditioned on FRAC taking, or declining to take, any substantive policy position.

  • FRAC will not sell, trade, or share donors’ personal information with anyone else, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. We will only share personal information if you have given us specific permission to do so.

  • FRAC staff will consult with the Board with respect to issues of fund acceptance.
