The map below shows the percentage of free and reduce- price (F/RP) students participating in breakfast and lunch. Traditionally more students participate in lunch and fewer participate in breakfast. The percentage below can be thought of as a ratio. For example: for every 100 F/RP students that participate in lunch, 73 F/RP students participate in breakfast; or 73%.
The Community Eligibility Program (CEP) allows schools and school districts to provide free school breakfasts to all students if at least 40% of their students are identified as low-income through receipt of programs such as SNAP or Medicaid.
