  • Interactive Map: SNAP Participation Rates Among Eligible Seniors (Age 60+) in an Average Month in FY 2015

    Interactive Data Tool

Note: Works best in Chrome and Firefox.

    AARP Foundation

In FY 2015, 4.2 million seniors age 60 or older participated in SNAP in an average month, helping to improve their nutrition, health, and economic well-being. Despite the millions of seniors benefitting from SNAP, only 42 percent of eligible seniors participate in SNAP (compared to 83 percent of all eligible people).

Millions more seniors could benefit by closing this SNAP participation gap.

Scroll over a state to view SNAP participation percentages for eligible seniors and for all eligible individuals (of any age) in that state. Use the drop-down menu to the right to show state SNAP participation rates among eligible seniors or among all eligible individuals (of any age).
